The Skill Map: A roadmap through academic standards

School of One was designed to align with the New York state mathematics standards but will soon be adapted to align with the Common Core standards. The skill map takes nearly 400 math skills from grades 4 through 9 and demonstrates how mastery of each skill relates to every other skill.

Playlists: A different route for every student

Students begin each year at different places along the skill map and move through it at different rates and in different orders. Students occasionally loop back to previous material to address gaps in their learning, unlocking new skills as they master predecessor skills. School of One calls each student's custom learning plan a playlist. Every day, students can access and review their playlists to check on their progress.
